Gotta love these mailboxes. I've seen some beauties, and they do their best to make 'em bulletproof up here, hoping that the snowplow doesn't blow them down on its way by. A wall of road snow at 60mph - BAM!

Takes out a 4x4 post like kindling, and you might find your mail next spring.

I know, I love these kinds of mailboxes. They seem to be getting more and more interesting and unique all the time. They also seem to catch my eye more too. There are a few that obviously have been hit with a bat or some other object but I haven't seen any with bullet holes...YET! Most bullet holes out here are in the road signs. You can tell which ones have been hit in the past...they are the ones that are surrounded by big steel pipes.

~ I was once afraid of people saying, "Who does she think she is?" Now I have the courage to stand and say, "THIS is who I am."

Big steel pipes.

I don't know if it would help here. I spoke to a guy that drove those plows. He told me that the larger road plows are designed to shear off one of those big light standards on a highway without a problem. Well maybe not for the driver of the plow. I'd imagine ot might be a problem for the folks following the plow...

Just sayin'.

I always see this sign on the outskirts of the hamlet that I live in get blasted over every single winter getting hit with snow really hard. It's a substantial-enough sign, but he nails it every time among others. I have a sneaking suspicion that the same guy fixes the signs during the summer...
